We're thrilled to showcase our latest Coach Spotlight on an incredible Personal Trainer, Sky Smith. Sky shared some remarkable insight to her training background and passion for bringing out the best in each of her clients. No matter where you are, you can book a virtual session with Sky on Final Drill!
Sky’s experience with coaching:
Sky's experience with personal training started during her time in high school, where she continued her passion and began CrossFit while she was in college. She loved the style of one-on-one training because it was more personal. One-on-one training sessions helped build her confidence and challenged her to build up a more intensive style of training in college.

Sky’s coaching philosophy:
When asked about her philosophy, Sky states, “Everyone is different. It’s so important to find a coach that cares about getting to know YOU and treating every client as if he/she is their only one! The more personalized the training, the more results you see. This philosophy also applies to the client’s mindset, where they have to understand that their circumstances are completely different than everyone else’s. So just as I would never compare them to another one of my clients, they should not be comparing their progress to anyone else’s but their own.”
What a typical session can look like:
Sky will typically begin her training sessions with a warm up, “a warmup that not only wakes you up and stretches you out, but also gets your blood pumping and is enjoyable!” When getting to the bulk of the work out, “The foundation of the workout could consist of interval training, circuits, HIIT, or basic sets and reps. All depending on the day, client, and/or personal goal we’re trying to achieve. Then we never leave without a mobility cool down! No matter if the session is 30 minutes or an hour, we will fit all 3 sections in!”
What about those who haven't played a sport or trained? How can they get started with Sky?
Sky encourages, “to go in with an open mind and don’t be afraid to ask questions! The more you’re able to give your trainer, the more comfortable you will become with one another and the better your work and progress will be! It’s okay to be nervous, but what matters is that you try and give it your all. You can’t make progress without taking the first step, and you have to remember that you’re never alone throughout the process. If someone is interested in training but has gym anxiety or doesn’t know where to start, having that trainer for guidance and accountability is a wonderful first step!”
Sky’s favorite quotes to keep you going:
“Motivation only gets you start, discipline keeps you going”.
“Success isn’t over night. It’s when everyday, you get a little better than before. It adds up” -Dwayne Johnson
